Although WCG Head Coach, Dan Roppo has been training fighters for close to 20 years, The story of his World Class Fight Team began in 2007 when Tom Yankello (World Champion Trainer & Head Coach of the World Class; Boxing Gym) urged him to start training MMA fighters again for the purpose of promoting Boxing/MMA events with the legalization of the sport in PA. Josh Miller & Brian Wakefeild, were the first fighters to compete in MMA competition under the World Class Name.
Since that time WCG has guided dozens of fighters to victory in MMA and No Gi Submission Grappling and produced several champions. In just a few short years the World Class name has become synonymous with "up & coming" MMA talent. WCG Fighters are regularly scouted by some of the tri-state's elite promotions like the NAAFS (which has earned a reputation as an Ohio based farm league for such industry giants as The UFC, WEC & Strikeforce).
